Silver Mexican Libertad is a bullion coin. These coins are minted at the oldest mint in North America. Established in 1536 the mint is located at the Casa de Moneda de Mexico. The Mexican Libertad is 99.9% pure silver.
On one side of the coin you will find an engraved Winged Victoria with a background of the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes. The opposite side has the Mexican coat of arms. In the more recently minted coins, the Winged Victoria is seen from a different angle with the other side displaying the Mexican coat of arms in the center, surrounded by 10 historical Mexican coats of arms. Collectors and investors in the United States find these coins to be highly desirable. However they are hard to locate due to the coins relatively low mintage.
